Untitled Project part the second

“So how’s work?” Diana said as they moved back to the living room. If she could get Bobbie started on work, maybe she wouldn’t bug Diana. Wishful thinking.

“Fine. You should come out more. It’s always more fun. Besides, there’s some real cuties hanging around now.” Bobbie flopped down on the couch as Diana took the overstuffed chair in the corner.

“Maybe. God knows I can’t sleep as it is. I might as well make the most of it.”

“What’s with those dreams anyway?” Diana shrugged as she took a sip from her mug. Still weak.

“Hell if I know. There’s no reason for them and yet it seems to be happening more often. I can’t even put it down to stress – my job’s disgustingly easy.”

“Could be boredom. I go absolutely nuts when I don’t have anything interesting to do.”

“Or anybody?” Diana grinned and sipped again. Perfect.

“Hey! That’s only partially true! Seriously though, when was the last time you had any fun?” She had a point. Diana couldn’t remember the last time she even hung out at the Bacall Room with Bobbie. Easy though her job may be, it was long hours dealing with an unending round of negative people. It drained her energy, leaving little for the things she actually enjoyed. Maybe she should start looking for a new job. Tomorrow though. She could feel the soporific effects of the chamomile.

“Fine. I’ll come out with you tomorrow.” She drained her cup and stood up. “But first I’m getting some sleep.”

Bobbie squealed and clapped her hands. “Yey! It’s a date!” Diana smiled as she shut the door to her room. Bobbie turned back to the TV, where some godawful B-movie was blaring. Tomorrow, she could start looking, and hopefully the nightmares would go away.
