More Bar Time

Oh by the way this is totally a trashy romance novel. I see nothing wrong with writing one. I find it highly entertaining.

“Oh, I almost forgot, I brought back presents for the two of you.”

“Really! What is it?” Ray never got them gifts. He never got anyone gifts. He was a nice enough guy and definitely charming but not particularly generous. If he got them something, it must be special.

“You’ll see tomorrow. If you don’t like them, you’re welcome to return them.” His tone was mocking, as if the whole thing was some big joke that she clearly was not in on. No matter, she would find out tomorrow. She realized peace could be restored, at least temporarily –

“Hey Bobbie! Ray’s got us presents!” Bobbie straightened up to look at them. Ray had a smirk plastered to his face. She sniffed and turned towards Diana. She didn’t look as mad and there was a hint of greed in her eyes, but she wasn’t going to allow herself to be placated so easily.

“Tell that jackass he can shove it…” She was interrupted by two newcomers, though by the state of them, their night was nearly over. The pair, an Asian girl and boy, were practically falling over the bar, over each other, and all of the patrons in their way. They were also singing loudly. And badly. Bobbie glared at them, but neither one seemed to notice.

“WASUreTE… Hey barkeep – a shot of tequila for me and my brother!” The male had found an empty stool and slumped down onto it. The girl wasn’t much better. They also looked way too young to be in a bar despite their current level of intoxication.

“No.” Bobbie stood with arms crossed.

“Ahh… why not? You think we too young? I’m twenty-one an’ so’s he. I can prove it.” The girl dug around in her purse.

“Doesn’t matter. Still no.”

“Why? You racist? You don’t like our kind?”

“If by your kind, you mean stupid-drunk then yes. You come up to the bar, disturb my other customers, are rude to me, and clearly you’ve had too much fun already. So no.”

“Bitch. You serve me and Morio here, or we kick your ass.” At this Morio assumed what, had he been sober and able to stand, he thought was an intimidating pose. It didn’t work. Aside from being completely wasted, he was a few inches shorter than Bobbie and skinny to boot. She for her part, just snorted.

“Get out. Or I’ll kick your ass myself.” Morio snarled and made a move towards her. He was stopped from behind by Ray. Morio looked up, and then further up at Ray and decided it wasn’t worth it. Passing out was apparently the better option. The girl screeched.

“What the hell did you do? I’m gonna…” and trailed off as she took a good look at the man holding her brother upright. Tall, dark, and handsome, that was Ray to a T. His hair and eyes was a dark brown, and his features fine; they would almost be feminine if it wasn’t for a strong jaw. His grin was ever present; at the moment it was the smile of a predator about to pounce. His body was lean and well-muscled. Tonight that was partially hidden beneath his motorcycle jacket but his tight dark-wash jeans showed off quite a bit. Very few women could resist him; this one didn’t even try.

“D’ya mind helping my brother and me to a cab?” The girl nearly simpered. Diana just about gagged. Ray, on the other hand turned the charm up to full volume.

“Certainly my dear.” He practically dragged the boy out of the bar with the girl trailing behind.

Bobbie turned to Diana “So, what do you think Ray go us?”
